Cam viewer Shel commented at 23:08 with prior season snapshots of 128's larger blonder male compared to the subadult observed this evening.:
"Even though the below pics of 128's larger light cub are from a year ago, I think there might be some similarities in the head shape, eye position, muzzle shape, and ears/ear position. Shed pattern on the forehead just above the eyes might be fairly similar, but it's hard to tell for sure.

"The 6/23 sub does act familiar with that area by the fish ladder and possibly acts like it remembers getting food there.
The pic below confuses the issue for me some, because the forehead looks rounder in it than in the pics I posted above, but maybe it's related to the cam angle. unknown - 6/23/2018"

Fun fact: 503 Cubadult also returned to the Brooks River on this date in 2017 . 2017 was the first year 503 returned to the Brooks River after hibernating as an independent subadult. 2018 is the second year in a row that 503 has returned on June 23rd.

On June 24, 2018 at 03:49 LaniH posted her June 23, 2018 daily update summary: "Good Morning Bear Peeps not a lot of bears seen yesterday but then again any bear seen makes it a good day :) We saw a subadult out on the spit and he swam out to the point and out of camera range (video by Martina attached). At the falls we saw a cute little family of Mergansers with one chick riding on the moms back (video by Erie attached). Dumpling mountain cam picked up the sounds of a bear grazing right near the repeater, make sure you have sound on for this (video by Erie attached).
A cute little subadult paid a visit to the falls right near the platform (video by SteveCA attached). 503 was finally seen on cams he was spotted on the LR out by the point following another bear who could be 708 Amelia (video by Erie attached). 503 was seen coming up from the riffles to the falls he was in the far pool and crossed the falls and came near the platform, he even caught a fish (video by BrendaD attached). 708 Amelia was seen up at the falls crossing the island and going under the platform (video by BrendaD attached).
