Many a Brooks River bear have found themselves falling, slipping, or even being pushed off the lip of Brooks Falls. Cubs have washed over the falls. In 2023, a reluctant duck and a wolf joined the long list of bears to make the slippery trip off the lip of Brooks Falls. This page was created to gather those moments in one place.

128 Grazer's 3 spring cubs float over the falls while she is fishing the lip, August 6, 2016:[]
On August 6, 2016 all 3 of 128 Grazer's spring cubs floated over the falls while she was attempting to fish the lip, video by Jusywho. As Grazer #128 made her way to the lip from the far bank, her cubs followed her. In the close-up shot, you can see Small having a hard time managing the upstream current. All of a sudden, you see Medium go over and then followed by Large. Grazer runs down via the Fish Ladder to check on the two. As she does that, Small goes in the drink, too, to all of sudden pop up by the log. Small jumps back in to join the rest of the family.

In July 2016, 402 had 2 remaining yearlings from her 2015 litter of four spring cubs. The larger of the two yearlings was a male that often accompanied 402 out onto the lip of the falls. He slipped off / was washed over the lip of the falls on July 10, 2016 while 480 Oits was fishing in the jacuzzi. 402 reacted quickly and dashed down to her yearling. 402's other remaining yearling, the smaller female yearling, makes her way down the wall of the fish ladder and joins the rest of the family group below the falls. That was 39 who watched the cub bob up in front of her. This little boy is a trooper though and got right back up on the lip.:

503 Cubadult is seen standing on top of the falls while a large boar, possibly 32 Chunk is fishing in the jacuzzi below. While walking across the top of the falls, 503 loses his footing and along with the swift current, is swept below straight into 32 Chunk who proceeds to give him a swift slap. 503 backs away and is none to worse for the wear. 806's yearling went over the lip of Brooks Falls. 128 Grazer, the most dominant and protective sow with cubs, is the bear that appears to momentarily consider rendering aid to the cub that washed over the falls. 128 is also the sow preventing 806 from descending to her yearling. Also of note is that 634 Popeye is the bear fishing below the falls to the North of the jacuzzi. Martina created this video.:

On June 29, 2019 813 is seen at the top of the Falls as her 2 yearlings sit nearby. One of the yearlngs loses it's footing and slides off the falls. 813 does not seem too concerned as her cub swims toward the bank. 821 "Pepper" chases 910's adopted 2.5 year-old niece/cub (aka "909F"/"909 Jr") for her fish, the 2.5 year-old ("909F"/"909 Jr") slips the lip in the video captured by mckate. 910 initially defends the 2.5 year-old adopted niece from 821, but then 821 does chase her for the fish. After "909F"/"909 Jr" slips the lip, 910 does descend the falls to assist the adopted offspring...confirming the adoption is deeper than just nursing. mckate shared this additional information about the video and all the pirating going on with that much desired fish.:
"Pepper really wanted that fish and it looked like 910 might have stopped him, but then he took after 909F. She panicked and got too close to the edge and slipped. It looked like she almost managed to hang on to her fish, but 912 grabbed it out of the water and then 151 stole it from him. 910 and her girl ran down to make sure 909F was okay. They came back and had a cuddle under the platform. Whew..."

The 2023 season was a season that provided a second season for cam viewers and park visitors to witness two documented unusual events...the adoption of an emancipated cub from another sow (910 adopted her niece, 909's 2.5 year-old female offspring) and a bear with what appeared to be a wire snare around it's neck (the identification of this bear is not known). On November 16, 2023 a wolf provided the 2023 season cam viewers with a documented FIRST! A WOLF GOES OFF THE LIP OF BROOKS FALLS and APPEARS TO SCORE A FISH!

On November 20, 2023 at 17:31 Goldilocks, Canada shared this information she observed when the wolf washed over the lip of Brooks Falls on November 16, 2023:
"It was amazing to see a wolf on the falls. It was even more amazing to see it fall off of the lip. BUT, what was really amazing was to see it do a 164/Bucky maneuver, and go into/behind the falls for approx 10 seconds. It then jumped from in/behind the falls down into the jacuzzi, and swam out. :)))
Corisande’s video…..at :51 seconds we get a very brief view of it as it climbs into the falls. Approx.10 seconds later we see it jump out from inside/behind the falls…..and leap down into the jacuzzi. Corisande also does a close-up view. At 2:07 we see it briefly as it climbs up into the falls…..because the video is edited, we see it almost right away jump out of the falls and down into the jacuzzi.
